In the Spring of 2004, Plop Entertainment was born from an idea to provide first class and easily accessible information to the growing numbers of aspiring performers, starting with TV presenters. Founders Nick Piper and Derrick Siu spent the next 2 years developing a range of learning resources including Audition Secrets Revealed, Your Big Break and TV Presenting Revealed DVD Series amongst others. Calling on numerous qualified industry professionals as well as their own wealth of experience in the entertainment industry they have arguably put together the best learning resource for aspiring TV Stars.

In late 2006, Plop Entertainment began expanding its product offerings to include the highly acclaimed DVD Voice Program “Voice In Action” by Bill Pepper , who is Head of Voice Studies at the world famous National Institute of Dramatic Arts in Sydney Australia. This fantastic program is for actors, TV presenters, speakers and performers alike. Plop Entertainment looks forward to continue to bring innovative and leading edge resources to aspiring entertainment professional for years to come.

Derrick Siu - Managing Director & Founder

Derrick Siu has a passion for Entertainment and Education. His love of performance has seen him do everything from hosting and producing industry events, acting on award winning Australian drama, presenting corporate videos and working on films like the Matrix 2 & 3 Productions. His passion for people, deep understanding of the human condition and his thorough knowledge of the learning and teaching process has allowed him to inspire thousands of people across australia as a motivational speaker.

Together with Nick Piper, he has developed the comprehensive How To Be A TV Star Resource, and created a platform to allow it to be easily accessible by people all around the world. Click here to go to Derrick's Website

Nick Piper - Principal & Founder

Nick Piper entered the broadcasting arena with virtually no experience or training. Within six months, he was hosting two primetime television shows and travelling the world as part of the international travel show ‘Destination Planet Earth’. Success followed quickly with light entertainment hits ‘Dreams Game True’, ‘The Game’ and Grundy game show ‘Off The Planet’. Piper’s TV profile enabled him to run with the Olympic Torch, skate the length of NZ for children’s charity, operate the Positive Kids Motivational Speaking Programme, win two National Radio Awards, host Miss Universe New Zealand and be the youngest person to be nominated for a National TV Award. His unique and ambitious entry into television was heralded as the ‘template method’ for any young aspiring professional. His method of self-promotion enabled him to transfer hard work into a ten year career spanning nearly every genre.

In 2003 Nick set up production company Onion Media Group – providing corporate, creative and showreel production. In 2004 he partnered with Derrick Siu to create the learning resource business Plop Entertainment – responsible for the How To Be A TV Star Series of educational resources.
