NEW DIRECTION

Plop Entertainment Gets Serious!

After months of preparation, research and development,
the Plop team of Derrick Siu and myself have finally devised
the perfect system for aspiring professionals like yourselves
- in all fields of entertainment - to learn and be inspired.

Plop Entertainment is the nerve centre behind the 'How To Be
A TV Star' service which will be sending you FREE information
contained in its newsletter every FORTNIGHT, together with the
opportunity to LISTEN to our first ever 'How To Be A TV Star'
podcasts starting in the next few weeks.

Our aim is to provide you with genuine, honest and subjective
advice on a regular basis - it will be as simple as opening
your email. No obligation, no commitment, but hopefully a
willingness to read, listen and absorb the interviews, advice,
tips and ideas that we provide.

We also appreciate your patience as both Derrick and I have
taken time to ensure our service is operating 100% full
functionality before we launch it to the world.

Stay tuned in the next few days for our official Launch

PERSONAL UPDATE

DERRICK AND BILL
Sounds like the title of a new Saturday morning cartoon,
doesn't it? Derrick has been studying the work of voice coach
Bill Pepper over the last few months after so many of you
requested information on where and how to improve your vocal
capacities.

We will be making available a range of resources
from Bill over the next few months, The first of these resources
is his excellent Voice in Action DVD which will be available
In the next few days. .Stay tuned. .

NICK TO BE A DAD
Am I ready for this? I had better be. Yep, the Mrs will be
giving birth in February next year - all going to plan that is.
A few photos will appear on my website this week - also check
out my blog for more television-related info.

PILOT PROJECT
'Where On Earth' - my pilot project - is undergoing a new
direction. Keep up to date with developments and special
educational notes on how to put together a pilot show and
sell it. Thanks to Derrick for getting this site up and
running.

For those of you new to this Newsletter, I decided early
this year to write, produce and pitch a pilot show that
would provide a transparent view of the development process
to my students and readers of the Newsletter. Follow the
progress of the pilot effort by visiting:

ACTION PLAN

NEW YEAR, NEW GOALS, NEW FAILURES
What does the New Year have in store for you?

The only benefit of the New Year is the psychological
belief that with a new diary, new month, new date all is
forgotten and everything starts anew. Well, sorry, but it
doesn't quite work like that. Old habits will rise to the top
and take over before you know it, that is UNLESS you make
a conscious determined effort to change them.

Start by being honest with your assessment of where you are
and what you have done within the realms of the entertainment
industry.

Did you commit as much time to rehearsal as you
should have? Did you really try to lose weight for your
headshots?
Did your showreel script even make it to the printer?

Start small and work on your projects daily or weekly.
Simplify, break it down to baby steps if you have to:
eg. work on getting your training up to scratch during
the month of January, work on your showreel script in
February. You get the drift. . .

See you all in a fortnight!
