Before I was a television star, my life could not have been further removed from the entertainment industry. I was a part-time sports coach, drifting through the United Kingdom with a plan to backpack around the world before returning home to study physical education and – maybe - an impending career as a physiotherapist.
But in 1995, I was asked by a researcher to appear on a breakfast TV show in London to introduce a segment. I had previously written to the show to ask for any part-time employment as I was a struggling traveller. I had no real interest in broadcasting, but it would make for an interesting day out.
When I arrived on set, Pamela Anderson walked through the dressing room, just as popstar Kylie Minogue started her interview. I was in a daze. Television was starting to look pretty good.
I said my script to camera and then was told by the floor manager that I could hang out for the rest of the morning. I watched on as 20-30 crew members rushed around with one objective on their mind….make the show come together!
This single day was a turning point in my life. Completely inspired by the experience of being on location with dedicated professionals, I discovered the adrenaline of entertaining people was unsurpassable, like nothing I had felt before.
I walked away thinking that I had stumbled across my future, like I was destined to find a career right there in Old Ford Lock, in London’s Docklands almost by accident.
But I am not easily impressed. I didn’t get excited by the celebrities, or the free catering, or even the chance to meet the production team.
I was captivated by the process – the collective team of directors, camera technicians, make-up artists, wardrobe stylists – all with their own small part to play in a large production, fronted by the hosts. I felt I belonged there - in that creative mess!
But how was I going to become a TV professional?
I had NO training.
I had NO qualifications. I was a NOBODY. I had NO right to impede in a business full of egos, experience and excellence.
But yet my spark was lit, and when I returned to New Zealand in early 1996, I decided I would pursue this 'dream' despite not quite knowing what to do. So you can see, before I learnt what you're about to learn today, I was just like any other struggling TV wannabe – frustrated at the lack of work, getting ignored by agents, television networks refusing to take my calls and – worse still – being told by everyone around me that ‘I would NEVER make it as a TV Star!’
Every day I would wake up and question whether or not I was making the right choice. My friends were all working regular jobs, they had money, spare-time and active social lives -
whereas I was working several part-time jobs just to make ends meet!

If You're Don't Live In Australia Or New Zealand, I Know You're Probably Wondering - What About My Country?
Will This Information Work For Me In My Market?A valid point. The principles relative to the television market are applicable right across the entertainment industry globally. The application and execution of these principles will vary in small detail (and these details are more culturally related than anything else eg language, customs etc) , but in general television – much like film and theatre – operates from the same manual no matter where you are in the world.
Most of our Industry professionals are Australian, but many of them (especially the ones who also teach, have taught and studied all over the world – Bill Pepper (links wirth pop up information) (Australia, UK and Asia), Dean Carey (Australia, USA and Russia), and Tom McSweeney (USA, Australia). Their information is applicable globally.
We may speak different dialects, live in diversely populated countries, compete in varying market sizes, and even use different kinds of recording format, but the basic principles remain the same. . Television has become a universal language and in order to work on a global scale producing television has become standardised – production demands, formats, casting procedures, performance techniques and methods of operating are similar across all markets.
So No Matter What Market You Are In, This Program Will Give You The Know How, Training and The Competitive Edge To Build Your TV Career!

The How To Be A TV Star Home Study Program Is Unlike Any Other Program In The Industry. .
Heres Why
1. There is NOTHING like it in the world today!
Firstly. . when Derrick and I first discussed the idea of producing such a resource, we researched the market, and could not find anything like it available.
You can be assured of quality information – With my experience in TV Presenting (See my showreel here), TV Tutoring at the world renowned National Institute of Dramatic Art, Showreel Production (click here for showreel samples) and Production (Onion Media Group), you know, I know what I’m talking about.
Plus we have captured the advice and insider knowledge of nearly 30 industry professionals and leading tutors to give you a complete perspective of the industry!
We are the best, first and only resource for aspiring TV Stars available right now.
2. Created with you in mind! With my experience both as a TV Star and TV tutor for many years . I have learned what aspiring stars really want to know. Not only that, we provide answers to real live questions that were asked from people like you who aspire to be TV Stars. A simple website was set up, and people like you visited and left us their most pressing question on how to become a TV Star. Then we made sure we answered them in the program - Which means no fluff. Just the real answers you want to know.
3. Industry Know-How and Self-Promotion / MarketingThe biggest complaints I have heard from my past students is that most TV Presenting courses cover very little if at all the process of actually getting the job, and instead mostly mostly on the skills of doing the job – presenting to camera.
We give EQUAL importance to both these areas, so you can be confident that you’ll not only know how to master your presenting to camera skills, but you’ll also know how to market yourself and secure the jobs you want!
Our program does not replace a good practical course. The purpose of our program is to be the first point of reference – to provide a solid foundation of industry know-how and training techniques, so you can benefit and maximise the value of all the other learning tools and resources (including practical courses) and so fast-track your TV Career
4. Multimedia!
We made this a multi-media program with DVD’s, CD’s and manuals to make it easy for you to learn and understand the information in a variety of settings : you can listen to the Audio Program in your car, on your mp3 player or computer, and follow along with the transcripts to make sure you don’t miss a thing!
The Your Big Break DVD Program allows you to learn informally, as you listen to and get inspired and educated by leading industry professionals and experts. Plus in the second series we also provide fact sheets to help review the key points from the seminar! The Audition Secrets Revealed Manual, provides many illustrations, diagrams and forms, to help you understand and integrate the information, helping you learn faster and most importantly helping you apply the information!
5. Interactive! Finally we also added an interactive component with the 12 Week Advanced Training program where based on your performance from weekly assignments outlined in the program we will provide you specific feedback on your progress and skills and how you can further develop!
6. Value
The How To Be A TV Star Resource provides you with everything you need to know to learn to break into the TV Business in a fun and interactive format you can refer to again and again as many times as you like, and you get the benefit of a 12 week training course as well, all for much less than a standard practical course!
7. 60 Day Money Back Gaurantee!
This is a first. I don’t’ know of any practical course that will give you a money back guarantee – especially after going through the whole course! We understand that you may be a bit unsure about this program. This is totally reasonable as you have yet to see and fully evaluate the program, which is why we have taken away the risk and give you plenty of time to evaluate and study the program, so if you don’t feel it gives you everything we have stated, just return it within 60 days for a full refund! Total peace of mind!
