Rachel Browne must have the best job in the world! She writes the TV and Radio column in the Sun-Herald each weekend. The media has a distinctly more aggressive view of the TV world than us lowly viewers. We wanted to know if there was anything a TV critic could do to inspire readers of this newsletter:




1. Who do you think is a good TV Presenter?

I am a big fan of Andrew Denton. He is very unassuming which suits his TV show and the nature of his interviews. I also lke Jamie Durie - he is a genuine guy who is very Australian and that also works. TV executives do put in a large amount of work determining which personalities will suit their networks.

2. What does a TV Presenter do to deserve a bad review?

A lack of sincerity will polarise an audience straight
away. Also the inability to be natural - some presenters
look like puppets. TV Presenters need to try hard to
avoid being wooden. Being yourself helps.

3. What presenter-led shows would you like to see more of?

Reality has almost done its dash, but the emergence of more lifestyle shows means the number of TV presenter opportunities will not waver for some timeyet.
